WEDDINGS IN FRENCH POLYNESIA


Long recognized as one of the most idyllic and romantic honeymoon destinations in the world, overseas visitors are now able to get legally married in French Polynesia.

The minimum 30-day residence criteria has been done away with under the new legislation. This means visitors will be able to get married in a romantic Tahitian ceremony as long as they also go through a civil ceremony.  This must be conducted at a local city hall, at least one of which exists on each of our islands.

Previously visitors could only undergo a symbolic French Polynesian ceremony or a renewal of wedding vows legally exchanged else where.The most popular options for Aussies this year have been either Over-Water Chapel weddings or a Beach Ceremony on the lagoon's edge.

TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE CEREMONIES


In addition to a civil marriage, you may organise a traditional wedding ceremony, without the legal aspects.  If you have already had the legal ceremony in Australia or are simply wanting to RENEW your vows, this is ideal!
