Classification

256 establishments, located among the five archipelagoes, can welcome more 3519 occupants in 1298 bungalows and rooms. For the first time, a visible classification, with criteria and continuous control of the services are offered by this type of accommodation helping visitors to prepare their journey in the best possible conditions.

Nevertheless, the classification process is coming from a voluntary basis where owners of those establishments decide to make the subscription or not. The rigorous classification is established officially by the Tourism Office, public organism charged by the French Polynesian Government to make sure that the 100 criteria of classification is respected.

This classification is not set in stone and can be reviewed at any moment. The commission in charge of the classification have the authority to downgrade or eradicate any establishments that are no longer compliant to the classification initially required.

Holiday rentals and small family-run hotels are classified by an increasing number of tiare (local flower) from 1 to 3. The quality, the attractiveness, the quality of comfort, installation equipements and services are subjects to particular attention.

One tiare : simple comfort, excellent for value for money and small tariffs

Two tiare : a good comfort, all for the best price

Three tiare : an excellent comfort, quality services, at reasonalbe prices
