By boat

By air

Air Tahiti services the Marquesas islands as follows:

  • Nuku Hiva - daily service
  • Hiva Oa - 4 flights per week
  • Ua Pou - 3 flights per week
  • Ua Huka - 1 flight per week.

1 A 5-seater Squirrel helicopter flies between the islands, for an hourly rate or on request.

How to get around in the islands

There is two possible ways once you have arrived in the Marquesas by air, you can transfer by 4X4 vehicle or by helicopter into the Marquisas.

In terms of travelling in the Marquesas, it is highly recommended to plan this adventure by 4X4 rental vehicle. You may hire a local guide as he can comment on various cultural and natural aspect of the Marquesas.

It is also possible to get around the island by renting a motorboat for half or full days in order to explore bays and the shoreline.
