In brief... Combined press/famtrip to The Islands of Tahiti

Over the past 8 years, Tahiti Tourisme has strongly supported that the best way to talk about a destination was to discover it. Thus, this year again, a combined press / familiarization trip was organized with 5 key charter professionals to The Islands of Tahiti early September.

The Tuamotu archipelago had been in the limelight. Meeting growing success with Superyacht clients and crew and yet remaining secluded and pristine, easy to get to thanks to regular domestic commercial flights, these low-lying coral atolls offer a different kind of experience from the more renowned lush mountainous Society Islands including Moorea and Bora Bora. A 2 – 3 week cruise usually involves a visit to both archipelagoes. On a shorter cruise of a week or 10 days, it is recommended that you focus on one group of islands and create the opportunity of a second trip to French Polynesia later for more exploration in a completely different but always scenic environment.

The group was hosted onboard M/Y Askari in the lagoon of Rangiroa atoll. The yacht has been based in The Islands of Tahiti for the past 8 years, chartering successfully and contributing greatly to the increasing charter market locally. Her captain and crew have become experts of every corner of the archipelago over the years and it made complete sense to join the yacht for a few days to explore the area.

The Islands of Tahiti are made of 99% of ocean. The trip will focus on ocean conservation – a local governmental priority - and how pristine our underwater world is but also on Polynesian culture and traditions, making this place being one of a kind.
